Man, I really am bad at this blogging thing. It's been awhile since the last time I blogged and a lot has happened since then.
One of those happenings includes my stupid car acting up on me. Granted...it is a 1988 Honda CRX with 105,000 miles on it, but still. Apparently in the car world it's cool to randomly stall on your owner in the middle of an intersection and not start up again till there is an angry line of upset motorist behind you. Yeah, it happened to me, and while in the company of my girlfriend, which made me feel super good at life, let me tell you. So that was lame, but pretty sure it was just a dirty air filter. I guess it's a good thing to clean/replace those every so often. (On Right: What my car looked like a long time ago, without rust, door dings the size of fists and a broken windshield.) :-)
Next on the agenda, bomb threats...
About a week ago I woke up to a text message from my sister. My sister never texts nor does she have a texting phone plan, so right away I was thrown off...then I read the message.
School on lock down--bomb threat--in gym--please pray--call mom.
Some how, "Man, that sucks," really doesn't help the situation. I felt like a bad brother, here I am, in MN, 5 hours away from her school and I get this text. Frick! What do I do?! If I was at my parents I would have swung over to school in a heartbeat and used my superior Bethel University Security & Safety skills and defused the bomb (I'm sure there is a tool for it on my belt somewhere.)
Instead, I did like the text said and I called my mom. She had already been watching it on the news. Apparently there was a message about a bomb threat in the girl's bathroom the day before about a bomb being delivered to the school the next day. Well the next day there was a "suspicious package" under the vending machines by the pool. Next thing you know, there were SWAT teams at every entrance and the bomb squad was called it.
What was in the mysterious "package" under the vending machine? (Cue intense awkward Grammy winner envelope opening pause) . 1 Algebra II math book, 2 folders and 2 notebooks, and an assortment of writing utensils. Yep, that’s right...it was someone's backpack that was in swimming class (left right outside the pool area). Thankfully my sisters and brother made it out alive. Big shout out to the WCSD.
